Basic Job Functions:

Education/Experience:
· Associate’s Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and 15 years of relevant technical experience or 2 years of experience as a Development Engineer I at First Solar.
· Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and 5 years of relevant technical experience or 2 years of experience as a Development Engineer I at First Solar.
· Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and 3 years of relevant technical experience or 2 years of experience as a Development Engineer I at First Solar.
· Ph.D. in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline, without prior technical work experience
Required Skills/Competencies:
· Comprehensive understanding of functional business units core area (e.g. sputter or materials science), with expert knowledge in at least one area.
· Expert and hands on experience in laboratory or manufacturing environment.
· Strong analytical skills to process and interpret complex data. Can develop new algorithms and tools to enable others.
· Ability to make an execute detailed plans to achieve objectives with strong sense of ownership.

Essential Responsibilities:
· Identify opportunities for improvement in solar cell efficiency, material selection and process/equipment design through engineering, scientific or empirical methods.
· Apply state of the art techniques for material analysis, statistical analysis of data or execution/planning of experiments. Develop a work plan that can address problems with well understood solution paths.
· May be responsible to determine and evaluate material specification for improved performance. May be responsible to determine and evaluate tool/equipment specifications.

Basic Job Functions:
This position will be responsible for managing the European Technology Center EHS and Quality work to ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety and quality policies and for providing direction in support of the Company’s goals, local regulations and world class practices.
EHS coordination
Conduct the work environment and environmental management to secure compliance with current legislation and the company's policies (including radiation protection responsibility and responsibility for fire and explosive goods/solvent responsibility).
Monitor and report actual situation to ETC management and relevant authorities.
Organize and execute internal control program.
Prepare plans for improvement and issue resolution in the area of work environment/environment and monitors the execution of the plan.

Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and 4 years of relevant technical experience in EHS related field preferred, other degree considered with direct EHS work experience with progressively increasing scope and responsibility.
Similar Master’s Degree preferred.
Manufacturing experience preferred.

Essential Responsibilities:
Overseeing day-to-day ETC’s EHS operational support and results.
Prepare and deliver training material and seminars for EHS and QMS topics
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and First Solar policies.
Mentoring the ETC team with regards to EHS and Quality
Driving continuous improvement initiatives at the ETC – including ensuring that compliance/ risk assurance processes are robust (e.g. self-identifying/ correcting issues).
Partnering closely with other regional and global EHS teams in the sharing of lessons learned and best practices.
Represent EHS and First Solar ETC to key external stakeholders (e.g. regulators, community, industry peers, customers).
Conduct the work environment and environmental management to secure compliance with current legislation and the company's policies (including radiation protection responsibility and responsibility for fire and explosive goods/solvent responsibility).
Manage ETC QMS (Quality Management System) to coordinate and direct the organization’s activities to meet regulatory requirements and improve its effectiveness and efficiency on a continuous basis. Examples for what can be included in a QMS system are among others the organization’s SOP system, project structure and responsibility matrix.
Works with project managers to establish work scheduling plans in support of project schedules and/or provide project schedules for own area of responsibility.
Ensure compliance with Quality, Environment, Health and Safety and Responsible Business Alliance policies and procedures that is enforced within the organization.

Job Title: Engineer- Development III – Perovskite reliability expert
Reports To: Head of R&D, Evolar AB / European Technology Center
Basic Job Functions:

Plan, execute and characterize development engineering experiments in the laboratory and manufacturing environment with strategic foresight. Drives actions with strategic foresight.
Applies statistical and engineering methods to optimize organizational effectiveness. Improves methods for use by others.

Education/Experience:
· Ph.D. within the area perovskite solar cell technology
Required Skills/Competencies:
· Extensive experience within the field of reliability / stability testing and understanding of degradation mechanisms in perovskite solar cells. Experience from dry processing of perovskites is advantageous.
· Expert and hands on experience in laboratory or manufacturing environment.
· In depth knowledge in several fields from the list of photovoltaic device theory, materials science, process engineering, characterization techniques and other fields relevant to First Solar's technology.
· Strong sense of project ownership with hands-on and can-do attitude.
· Strong communication skills across organizations.

Education/Experience:
· Master’s Degree in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline and minimum 4 years of relevant technical experience or 2 years of experience as a Development Engineer II at First Solar or a Ph.D. in an engineering discipline or similar technical discipline; relevant technical experience as PhD from industry is an advantage.
Required Skills/Competencies:
· Experience from vacuum evaporation of organic materials.
· Experience of thin-film processing and related hardware. Experience from hardware design and construction related to thin-film deposition equipment.
· Expert and hands on experience in laboratory or manufacturing environment.
· In depth knowledge in several fields from the list of photovoltaic device theory, materials science, process engineering, characterization techniques and other fields relevant to First Solar's technology.
