Responsibilities


To help develop and establish pipelines used for taking characters, creatures, vehicles and any other animated assets into the game.
To help R&D new tools, pipelines for character artists, 3d artists and animators for current and future projects.
To help out in evaluations of hardware and software to be used by character artists, 3d artists and animators.



Qualifications
Solid knowledge of the game development process and industry
Strong understanding of game animation and implementation
University degree or equivalent experience
Excellent learning skills and adaptation to pipelines and workflow

Responsibilities
Collaborate with the director and lead to help define and maintain the high level of quality for all animations available in current and future MG productions.
Identify, communicate, and resolve animation related issues quickly and efficiently.
Create high quality realistic/stylized and believable animations utilizing hand key animation and motion editing of motion captured animations according to the cinematics needs.
To do quick blockouts for cinematic tests.
Collaborate with other disciplines to create a cohesive vision and experience.
Troubleshoot and solve animation issues with all departments.
Implement animation assets into game engine and iterate as needed.



Qualifications
Shipped at least 1 AAA title and been part of a full production cycle.
Experience working with game engines and cinematic animation implementation.
Expert level knowledge of Motionbuilder and experience in editing motion capture data.
Expert knowledge of basic principles of animation: timing, dynamics & body mechanics.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Passion for video games and especially for first-person immersive games.
Receptive to direction, constructive feedback, and willingness to work through an iterative process.
Adapt to technical dependencies and engine limitations.
Experienced with proprietary editors or other engines like CryEngine, Unreal, or idTech.
Basic knowledge of Maya.
CV in English.

Preferred Skills
Experience animating creatures or quadruped characters.
Bachelor’s degree in Art, Animation or Game Development.

- 3+ years' experience in AAA or mobile games development as Technical Artist

Key areas of responsibility

- Make the different game assets come to life, such as humans and creatures, using keyframe animation and motion editing in MotionBuilder
- Edit and polish motion capture data to the highest standard, enhancing the performance where needed
- Work with technical artists and other team members to solve resource-restricted tech challenges
- Coordinate use of in-house mocap system to record animation data
- Communicate needs and requirements to any out-of-team or external dependencies
- Evaluate externally created animation assets for quality and technical compliance
- Retargeting of animation assets

Experience and Skills

- You have 3+ years working experience in game development (Console, PC or Mobile)
- 3 + years of experience of keyframe character animation in MotionBuilder,
- Good understanding of the animation development pipeline
- Experience of rigging and skinning is a plus
- Scripting skills are also a plus (python, mel)
- Maya experience is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues
- You are also proactive, solutions oriented and positive
- As well as motivated and creative with strong commitment to quality
