Responsibilities
Assist in creating and maintaining level design documentation (walkthroughs, mission documents, layout diagrams, etc).
Interpret and implement the desired gameplay as well as the narrative ambitions in the levels.
Control the accessibility, understanding, and difficulty of the level.
Work with all disciplines to ensure that ongoing level design supports the products design, art, technical requirements and narrative.
Prototype the environment, establish the layouts and use interactive and non-interactive means with focus on pacing, narrative integration and flow.
Monitor level construction metrics, and help ensure they are communicated and respected from initial blockout phase through to final build.
Attend playtests, seek and provide feedback, and be solution-oriented to problems encountered.



Qualifications
Experience from at least one full production cycle in a Senior role capacity.
Are fluent in basic software such as word processing, spreadsheets, flowchart makers, etc.
Have excellent knowledge of level editing tools and scripting languages.
Capable of presenting design ideas and solutions to a live audience.
Are able to write clear, concise documentation in English.
Have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.

Work to ensure that ongoing level design work supports the game’s design, narrative, art, and technical requirements.
Mentor designers and environment artists in level design related areas.
Collaborate with all disciplines to integrate and iterate on level content.
Collaborate with all disciplines to develop content integration tools, technology, and workflows.
Help build better and more efficient processes with the team.
Work with the production team on planning and adjusting level development schedules.
Play the game frequently, monitor progress, and identify, communicate, and try to resolve level design related issues quickly and efficiently



Qualifications
5+ years of professional level design experience
At least one shipped title in the capacity of a senior or lead role
Strong understanding of level design principles and theory
Advanced knowledge and experience with level editors (Unreal Level Editor, Sandbox Editor, Hammer or similar)
Experience with scripting and/or programming
Positive, enthusiastic, team-oriented attitude
Excellent communication skills in oral and written English.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with the Game Director / Executive Producer to come up with an ambitious product vision for our games.
Ensure that delegated elements of the vision, owned by the EP/GD, are executed upon, and followed through via strong collaboration within the relevant design leads. Work with the team to translate that vision into engaging and high-quality features.
Work closely with Tools and Technology team to develop the tools and pipelines used by the Level Design team.
Should be able to switch context swiftly and multi-task; able to work across multiple games as needed
Able to identify and troubleshoot problem areas within a game, to identify clearly where the problems lie and how they can be improved.
Responsible for creating and/or improving complex mechanics and/or systems with attention to the player impacts, and the downstream effects on both the game and on the development team, technical constraints and performance targets. (in collaboration with leads and directors)
Creates high-level principles and best practices for future Level Design work.



Skills and Experiences
Should be an expert in many areas of game and level design.
Should be able to articulate with strong written and verbal communication skills
Should be able to create and provide multiple potential designs and solutions, articulating the trade-offs and risks between the different options
