There are currently about 260 of us who work at Nordex in the Nordic countries, about 130 of us are in Finland, 100 in Sweden and almost 30 in Norway. We are growing fast.
We work in a variety of different positions in QHSE, Sales, Project Management, Service, Finance, People&Culture;, Legal, Engineering etc. So here you will have a bunch of colleagues supporting you and working with you towards shared goals.
Job Description:
The Head of QHSE Nordic will be responsible for all Quality, health, safety and environment activities across our Nordic area (including at the moment Finland, Sweden and Norway). You and your team provide advice and expertise on a wide variety of QHSE topics to our Sales, Project Management and Service departments to ensure compliant and safe operations across the organisation.

Your main responsibilities are:
Develop and deliver HSE and Quality Management (QM) systems and procedures according to ISO standards
Manage a team of currently 4 fulltime professionals working in Finland and Sweden and grow the team to meet business requirements
As a member of the Nordic Management team you are responsible to report, monitor and develop HSE KPIs and drive the QHSE agenda in discussions and decisions made
Define HSE risk assessment methods, analyse and flag risks
Follow up and develop HSE and Quality Management improvements and actions
Ensure necessary audits and inspections are carried out on site and at offices
Participate to the safety committee work and meetings in the countries
Ensure proper HSE training is available across the organisation
Enable speedy and accurate incident investigations and participate when necessary
Carry out review of work and safety instructions and give input for improvements
Transfer global HSE and QM procedures and processes to the local entities and align them with local legal requirements
Responsible for dealing with and steering environmental issues and impacts
Ensure proper HSE related contract management e.g. check documents and legal requirements together with your team
Ensure that legal compliance with local HSE laws and regulations is maintained
Report on QHSE performance to the Nordics regional management and the Division Europe QHSE team in Germany
In this role your main internal stakeholders are the Nordic functional heads for PM and Service, local management team as well as your colleagues in the European QHSE management team.
Outside of Nordex you also work with our subcontractors, local authorities, auditors and clients bringing to the table valuable expertise and vision on HSE topics.
While managing QHSE issues you will ensure compliance with all local legal and corporate QHSE management systems, regulations and requirements. In your role you will report on one hand to the VP Nordic / Managing Director of Finland or Sweden (depending on where you are located) as well as through a dotted line to Director QHSE Division Europe who sits in our HQ in Hamburg.
Requirements:
To be successful in this position you should hold a formal education (Master’s degree) in Environmental Engineering or similar education with a focus on Health and Safety. You should have at least 7 years work experience at a technical/industrial company in a demanding QHSE role from within the Nordic region.
The last part, the local Scandinavian experience is a firm requirement for us, as we believe it is a crucial element to be successful in this position.
Beyond that we hope you will have most if not all of the following skills:
Excellent knowledge of the local HSE regulations and legal requirements in the Nordic countries
Firm knowledge of the standards to Quality (ISO 9001), Environmental (ISO 14001) and Safety (ISO 45001)
Strong communication skills and the ability to drive the HSE agenda
Strong team lead skills and interest in developing people in your team
Understanding of the day to day HSE questions in construction and service environments, and the willingness to sometimes support hands on if need be
Native level Finnish or Swedish speaker, fluent in Business English and ideally another Nordic language
Readiness for extended business trips to construction sites, wind farms and service locations within the Nordic Area on a frequent basis, max 40% traveling
